I am from Nørrebro in Copenhagen. I never had a father, but I had my mother and two sisters. I became a drug addict and was one for seven years. I took the really hard drugs. One day a dude comes by with a tract that says: "Jesus can save and help you!" We bent our knees and prayed fervently to Jesus to help us. The guy then left after first telling me that inside the city there was a house where people could get off drugs with God's help.
It hit me. It sounded really exciting, and I often thought about it afterwards, because I had been on 10 rehabs of various kinds without it having helped. After we prayed to God that day, I went to prison. The only thing I brought was a Bible and my toothbrush. I was isolated for the first 14 days and had terrible thoughts of fear. I was visited by someone who called themselves Young Christians from the house Soli Deo Gloria in Knabrostræde. We prayed together that I might get out of prison and that I also might come to this house once I was released.
I experienced my first answer to prayer in prison by reading in the Bible, where it says "You say that there are 4 months until harvest, but lift up your eyes and see that the fields are ready for harvest" (John 4:35). My sentence was for four months and I prayed to God that I would never have to take drugs again when I got out. I was released and I haven't taken drugs since. I had also quit smoking, so I arrived at the house a free man. Although I didn't come to be rehabilitated as such, I lived there anyway, and it was really good for me. If I had ended up on the street, I would definitely have relapsed into drug addiction.
I got to know a lot of Christians in this house, because at that time you could give half or a whole year instead of doing your military service. There were many solid Christians who came there, and I experienced much intercession during the year and a half I lived there. I also met many who had been in various problems. I got married in Soli Deo Gloria and we had four children afterwards. We found a house in the countryside just outside Hadsund. Therefore it is wonderful that I am allowed to go to Hadsund International Church. We have been in different congregations and I am so happy to be here, although it has been a winding road to get here.
I respect the members and believe that if we stand together and collectively put our wishes for the congregation and for Hadsund before the Lord, we will get really far. I am grateful for the new ones who have come and to be in a congregation that is so "Israel friendly." It's absolutely fantastic. It is important to hold Israel high. God heard the prayer we prayed then in Thorsgade. If we bend our knees and earnestly seek the Lord, He hears.
